About the Role
USPS offers developmental programs for current students, recent graduates, and entry-level professionals including an Intern Program, Emerging Professionals Program (EPP), Industrial Engineer (IE), and Honor Attorney Program. These programs provide meaningful work experiences, leadership exposure, and mentorship to help build critical professional skills and attract top talent from universities.
What You'll Do
- Intern Program: participate in a 10-week internship focusing on applying your major through cross-functional projects; collaborate with peers and receive mentoring from senior managers; build a network with interns nationwide.
- Emerging Professionals Program (EPP): participate in a 24-month, full-time development track with cross-functional projects, leadership training, and potential for promotions; work in designated tracks such as Controller, Finance and Strategy, Pricing and Costing, Supply Management, Treasury; opportunities to contribute to USPS leadership.
- Industrial Engineer (IE): engage in process re-engineering of mail collection, processing, and delivery; lead projects; pursue Lean Six Sigma certification; use AutoCAD, Minitab; apply IE principles to drive cost reductions and service improvements.
- Honor Attorney Program: a 36-month development program for attorneys to build legal leadership capabilities.
- What We're Looking For
- Intern Program: currently enrolled at an accredited university with at least 48 credit hours completed; concentration in engineering, HR, accounting/finance, supply, sales/marketing, IT, etc.; strong written and verbal communication; open to veterans.
- Emerging Professionals Program (EPP): recent college graduates; depending on track, degree requirements such as accounting/finance for Controller, finance/economics/statistics for Finance and Strategy, mathematics/statistics/economics for Pricing and Costing, etc.; ability to participate in cross-functional projects and leadership development.
- Industrial Engineer: bachelor’s or graduate degree in Industrial Engineering or Professional Engineering ABET-accredited; preference for veterans with PE license and six years of PE experience.
- Honor Attorney Program: for attorneys seeking a structured, long-term development track.
