Manufacturing Production Planning & Control work focuses on managing production to optimize the use of resources and meet production schedules and standards including: Planning and controlling production schedules and coordinating with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials. Estimating and scheduling the human resources, tools, and equipment needed for the production process. Researching, evaluating, and recommending changes to production processes, systems, technology, or equipment to enhance organization's production capabilities. A Support 1 is an entry-level position typically requiring little to no prior knowledge or experience. Responsibilities typically include: Work is routine or follows standard procedures. Work is closely supervised. Communicates information that requires little explanation or interpretation.
Typical tasks during the Bachelor’s thesis will include:
- Analysis, planning and optimisation of assembly and production processes in accordance with Lean principles
- Introduction and further development of Lean Assembly in existing and new production areas
- Design and optimisation of a lean internal material flow right through to the point of use
- Introduction, management and further development of internal Kanban systems for consumption-driven material supply
- Standardisation of workflows, assembly processes and material provision
- Collaboration with production, logistics, quality and maintenance to achieve sustainable process improvement
