In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with brilliant minds and contribute to high-profile projects that are changing the landscape of our world. WSP is seeking an Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing team in Sudbury, Ontario. In this role, you will contribute to a diverse range of transportation, municipal, industrial, and land development projects, providing geotechnical expertise from initial site investigation through to design and construction support.

Your Impact

Deliver clear, technically sound analyses and recommendations that guide major decisions for transportation, municipal, industrial, and land development projects. Prepare geotechnical reports, design briefs, and construction-phase guidance to support successful project delivery. Collaborate with structural, civil, environmental, and materials engineering teams to integrate geotechnical insight into multidisciplinary designs. Conduct site visits, field reviews, drilling oversight, and QA/QC activities to ensure accuracy and safety of field programs. Apply geotechnical design software and numerical modelling tools to evaluate soil-structure interaction and optimize project outcomes. Contribute to sustainable design approaches that reduce environmental impact and improve long-term resilience.

Skills

• That Set You Apart

• Several years of hands-on geotechnical engineering experience supporting transportation, municipal, or site development projects. A degree in Geological, Geotechnical, or Civil Engineering, and progression toward (or attainment of) a P.Eng. designation in Ontario. Comfortable conducting field work, geotechnical investigations, and construction-phase reviews. Proficient with tools such as SLOPE/W, Settle3, PLAXIS, or equivalent geotechnical modelling software. Motivated by delivering practical engineering solutions that strengthen communities.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: 77,400 - 102,500 MB & ON: 70,600 – 97,200 NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: 69,900 – 92,900
