Interior Designer / Project Management Support

About the Role The University of Cincinnati is seeking to augment its interior design and related interiors project management support within space planning, CAD drafting, furniture, color/materials application, and related presentations. The role supports interior design and interior architecture/fit-out efforts across university projects and collaborates with multiple stakeholders on capital projects and campus spaces. What You'll Do

• Assist with assigned projects from initiation through project closeout, including initial planning, scope of work, cost estimating, competitive bidding, contractor negotiations, cost control, inspections, scheduling, move planning, project closeout, and post-occupancy follow up.
• Assist with space planning, drafting/CAD, furniture products, color and materials application, and internal graphic and verbal presentations to communicate design intent.
• Coordinate with leadership in various university departments and committees, the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission, consulting architects and interior designers, construction/furniture vendors, internal P+D+C project managers, and related constituents.
• Assist with the major capital project interior design portion of the scope, ensuring consulting firms follow University methodology and deliverables in line with the P+D+C Project Manager's Manual and University Standards.
• Help develop, maintain, and execute a plan for annual and life-cycle budgets, repair and replacement of FF&E and finishes inventories (e.g., residence hall carpet upkeep and replacement program).
• Improve space utilization by promoting flexibility and scalability to reduce costs. What We're Looking For
• Knowledge of interior design and interior architecture concepts, with experience in space planning and CAD drafting.
• Ability to communicate design intent through graphics and presentations and to coordinate with multiple campus stakeholders.
• Familiarity with capital project processes, budgeting, and vendor coordination.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with a collaborative approach to problem solving. Nice to Have
• Experience in university or large public sector environments.
