Interim - Large Loss Team Manager

• PL Large Loss Property Claims is seeking interest for an Interim Inside Specialist Team Manager opportunity. This role requires an experienced individual with severe and complex losses, who can quickly step into a fast-paced Inside Large Loss Property environment and effectively lead, coach, and drive results with minimal ramp-up time. Familiarity with West Coast jurisdictions (primarily CA, WA, OR, CO) essential, besides experience with the PL Large Loss workflows. The assignment is expected to last 6 months and provides an opportunity to lead a virtual West Coast-based team while supporting key business needs. As this team is mainly located near the Liberty Lake campus, there will be occasional need to travel to that location for facetime with direct reports, as well as minimal travel to

• other campuses for various meetings.

• This opportunity is a remote position, yet will need to be based in Central, Mountain, or Pacific time zones. Pacific time zone is the optimal location.

• Minimum Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership qualities and experience, including leading peers, influencing without formal authority, mentoring, or coaching others, serving as a subject-matter resource, or taking on other informal leadership responsibilities. Formal people-management experience is preferred yet not required.

• Proven track record of achieving results through collaboration, influence, and support of others.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Strong knowledge of PL Large Loss Inside Property processes and workflows.

• Strong familiarity with West-Coast jurisdictions.

• Experience with severe and complex losses.

• Minimum Positive Impact rating across all goals.

• Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a team of large loss property claims representatives/specialists ensuring the quality, accuracy, and timely resolution of claims that may include high exposure/complex cases. Continuously develop talent by creating opportunities for direct reports to grow and strengthen new skills.

• Promote claims customer service excellence by building empathy and passion for the customer experience that meets or exceeds customer expectations.

• Proactively assist in selecting top talent, delivering continuous coaching, and rewarding and recognizing employees to reinforce behavior that ensure service excellence.

• Monitor the work of team members to ensure reserves are adequately set and customer expectations are surpassed. Analyzes any problematic trends and takes steps to avoid recurrence, appropriately escalating issues if needed. Promote a culture committed to identifying process efficiencies to continuously improve how work is completed.

• Resolve customer complaints, problems and coverage questions which cannot be handled by team members. Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders including existing policyholders, the business community and governmental agencies, to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.

• Promote and advocate goals and objectives of the large loss property team, ensuring alignment with broader claims functional goals.

Qualifications

• Supervisory, organizational and interpersonal skills.

• Comprehensive knowledge of legal liability, general insurance policy coverage and the State’s Tort Laws.

• Licensing required in some states. 5-7 years directly related work experience; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
