About the Role Koch IP Holdings, LLC is seeking a highly-motivated intellectual property attorney with strategic thinking skills, a contribution mindset, and leadership experience to join our integrated IP Legal Capability as Counsel or Senior Counsel. This role supports the diverse, global businesses of the Koch companies in all aspects related to IP, with a focus on trademarks, copyrights, and domain names; location options include Atlanta, GA, Lisle, IL, or Wichita, KS.

What You'll Do

• Work on a broad range of trademark, trade dress, and copyright matters, including enforcement, litigation, disputes, transactions, clearance, licensing, settlements, and provide guidance to the trademark paralegal team on domestic and international prosecution
• Coach and mentor the trademark paralegal team and deliver thought leadership to IP Capability management
• Provide strategic counseling to Koch companies on global trademark and domain name portfolios, and efficiently manage domestic and foreign outside counsel
• Evaluate and handle copyright questions related to on-line content and social media, including fair use, privacy and publicity rights, and use of third-party content
• Negotiate and draft IP agreements, including trademark and copyright licenses and talent releases
• Perform IP due diligence and draft and negotiate IP-related terms for M&A transactions as part of the deal team
• Advance the IP team’s transformation through initiatives that optimize processes and adoption of AI

What We're Looking For

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and State bar admission in good standing; 5+ years of experience in trademarks, copyrights, and domain names
• Experience providing IP analysis for M&A due diligence and drafting and negotiating acquisitions and divestitures
• Experience leading or mentoring teams and/or projects; in-house IP practice
• Experience with IP litigation; patents and trade secrets; rights of privacy and rights of publicity; and use of AI tools for improving trademark prosecution/processes

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $180,000 - $240,000 per year, with potential variable pay in the form of a monetary bonus or other
