About the Role Mississippi College seeks a qualified Instructor or Assistant Professor of Nursing with a specialty in Psychiatric Nursing. This full-time faculty role focuses on educating undergraduate nursing students in classroom and clinical settings to provide compassionate psychiatric care to children and families. What You'll Do
- Teach courses in psychiatric nursing, including classroom, laboratory, and clinical components.
- Supervise students in psychiatric clinical placements and assess clinical competencies.
- Assist in curriculum development and continuous improvement related to psychiatric nursing education.
- Serve as an academic advisor and mentor for nursing students.
- Participate in departmental committees, accreditation activities, and faculty governance.
- Engage in scholarly or professional activities consistent with rank and institutional expectations. What We're Looking For
- Master’s degree in Nursing (required); Doctorate in Nursing (preferred).
- Active, unencumbered RN license (or eligibility for licensure) in Mississippi.
- Minimum of two years of recent clinical experience in psychiatric nursing.
- Strong teaching, organizational, and communication skills. Nice to Have
- Experience teaching psychiatric nursing in a higher education setting.
- Familiarity with simulation-based instruction and online learning platforms.
- Experience with accreditation processes (CCNE, ACEN).
