Job title: Installation Technician
About the Role A frontline installation technician role focused on deploying and configuring customer premise routers for Fiber to the Home and Fiber to the Business. You will assess sites, verify signal coverage, and ensure reliable connectivity for customers.
What You'll Do
- Install and configure customer premise routers for FTTH and FTTB connections
- Perform site assessments to determine optimal router placement and signal coverage
- Connect fiber optic cables to routers and verify signal testing and performance
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues and perform basic maintenance
- Educate customers on proper use of installed equipment and provide basic training
- Document installation activities, capture photos, complete reports, and update ticketing systems
- Adhere to safety protocols and company policies during installations
- Maintain professional communication with customers
- Collaborate with the technical support team to resolve network issues remotely when on-site assistance is needed
- Maintain inventory of installation equipment, tools, and consumables
What We're Looking For
- Matric / Grade 12 (required)
- Diploma or Certificate in Networking, Telecommunications or IT (advantageous)
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to drive to customer sites
