Job title: Innovation Engineer - Medical Devices
About the Role Getinge is seeking an Innovation Engineer to lead hands-on concept generation and translational research for next-generation medical devices. The role focuses on early-stage concept development, feasibility studies, and advancing technologies toward product development within a regulated environment.
What You'll Do
- Lead Innovation & Concept Development (60%) by generating and evaluating early-stage medical device concepts and translating ideas into feasible technical plans.
- Conduct Research (25%) to validate concepts, assess technical feasibility, and explore translational pathways.
- Enable Cross-functional Collaboration (10%) by working with design, regulatory, manufacturing, and quality teams to drive projects forward.
- Provide Technical Leadership (5%) to mentor teammates, establish best practices, and ensure design integrity in a regulated environment.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum requirements include Master’s (preferred) or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience; 3+ years in medical device R&D preferred.
- Experience in innovation and regulated environments.
- Strong engineering fundamentals and minimally invasive medical device design.
- Prototyping and testing experience (CNC, 3D printing).
- Knowledge of FDA and ISO 13485.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills; CAD design proficiency in SolidWorks.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience advancing technologies toward product development in a regulated setting beyond early concept stages.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $120k - $135k per year
