Job title: Inland Marine Claims Adjuster
About the Role As an Inland Marine Loss Adjuster at AIG, you will handle Inland Marine claims across Motor Truck Cargo, Vehicle Physical Damage, Car Hauler Liability, Commercial Property, Contractors Equipment, and Warehouse legal Liability. You will make coverage determinations, investigate losses, evaluate potential exposures, and set reserves while supporting a team of claim professionals.
What You'll Do
- Make coverage determinations, investigate losses, evaluate and project potential exposures, and set judgemental reserves.
- Develop and implement resolution strategies, and manage outside surveyors, attorneys, and experts.
- Negotiate with tow yards to gain release of equipment and cargo.
- Work with underwriting on policy renewals and promote client relationships.
What We're Looking For
- 1+ years of experience handling Inland Marine Insurance claims, litigation or other related experience.
- Excellent negotiation skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of Inland Marine policy forms; Carmack amendment strongly preferred.
- State adjuster licenses preferred.
- Knowledge or experience in direct handling of claims.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $76,000 – $97,000 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus per applicable incentive plan.
