About the Role
System Engineer - Onboard Telecom Products will contribute to the NetBox onboard networking solutions for railway applications. You will design embedded systems with routable IP, VLANs, QoS, and possibly cellular/WiFi modems or Ethernet switches, working onsite in Villeurbanne. You will collaborate with software, validation, and suppliers to deliver advanced network solutions for trains and signaling platforms. What You'll Do

Define technical solutions meeting project and internal solution needs.

Validate technical concepts and define architectures of selected solutions.

Participate in product development with the program's technical lead.

Write detailed specifications including functional, operational, performance, security, and maintainability requirements.

Interface with suppliers for product design.

Provide technical support to development, validation and internal/external customers.

Contribute to writing technical documents (user manuals, release notes). What We're Looking For

Bac+5 degree in computer science or equivalent (Engineering School).

Significant experience (minimum 3 years) in design, development or validation of embedded systems products.

Skills in Linux and/or networking (communication protocols, addressing, switching matrix, etc.) and/or cybersecurity valued.

Proactive, rigorous, with ability to solve technical problems and make decisions.

Able to work in a team and networked environment in a multicultural setting.

Sense of responsibility, clear and transparent communication.

Proficiency in English. Nice to Have

Additional experience with embedded networking, IP routing, QoS, VLAN management.

Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
