Job title: Ingénieur HSSE

About the Role The HSSE Engineer will implement applicable safety regulations and process safety standards, oversee risk analyses and hazard studies for existing units and projects, and drive continuous improvement of process safety culture on site. He/she will ensure compliance with ICPE requirements for the facility.

What You'll Do

  • Implement ICPE regulatory requirements and process safety standards for the site, coordinate necessary regulatory studies (hazards and danger studies), and monitor their implementation.
  • Analyze regulatory gaps in domain of expertise, propose corrective action plans, and track action closure.
  • Deploy risk management measures and Critical Safety Elements on site and ensure their ongoing effectiveness.
  • Coordinate external communications with authorities, and maintain up-to-date hazard studies for the site.
  • Be the owner of the Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) tool and methodology; provide expertise for analyses required by projects (e.g., MOC – Management of Change).
  • Coordinate selection of external suppliers for process safety studies when needed; ensure quality and follow-up of analyses.
  • Implement PSMS (Process Safety Management) elements and standards; conduct PS accident analyses and action plans; monitor related FTA actions.
  • Lead Learning from Experience (REX) initiatives; foster PS culture through site indicators and training.
  • Maintain the PS equipment database for the site; conduct regular compliance audits and field safety manager visits.
  • Represent the service externally during visits, audits and inspections.
  • Authority: Stop equipment usage if MRMs or EIPS tests fail; validate MOC changes concerning process safety, instrumented MRMs, and EIPS; validate shunts for safety instrumented systems.

What We're Looking For

  • Master’s degree (Bac+5) or equivalent in Chemical Engineering with a specialization in process safety or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of ICPE regulations, SEVESO sites, and Plan de Prévention des Risques Technologiques.
  • Knowledge of risk analysis methodologies in Process Safety (HAZOP, PHA).
  • English proficiency (written and spoken) for collaboration with colleagues in other countries.
  • Knowledge of hazard modeling tools and data management for PS.
  • Preferred: Quali SIL certification.

  • Certification Quali SIL is recommended.
