About this role
Job title: Infrastructure Platform Engineer
About the Role Join Humanitec as an Infrastructure Platform Engineer to design and build a single platform backend that serves both infrastructure teams and DevEx platform engineers. You’ll design a graph-based backend powered by the Platform Orchestrator to manage the lifecycle of infrastructure at scale and enable DevEx teams to build intuitive interfaces on top of it.
What You'll Do
- Design and build a platform backend that infra and ops teams can standardize against using the Platform Orchestrator.
- Create a graph-based backend and enable lifecycle management of infrastructure at scale.
- Implement automation and common interfaces to drive standardization and reduce manual configuration.
- Develop, integrate, and apply pre-configured Resource Packs and IaC definitions for resource families in AWS, GCP, and Azure.
- Enable DevEx platform engineers and developers to build intuitive interfaces on top of the backend.
- Collaborate with I&O, security, and DevEx teams to provide golden paths that scale.
- Help existing toolchains blend with the Internal Developer Platform through reference architectures packaged as code.
What We're Looking For
- Experience building platform backends or internal developer platforms for organizations.
- Strong background in graph-based backend design and platform orchestration concepts (Platform Orchestrator).
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code and IaC tooling (e.g., Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with common resources in AWS, GCP, and Azure and the ability to package them into Resource Packs.
- Ability to design complex logic and APIs that enable other teams to build intuitive interfaces on top of the platform.
- Collaborative mindset with I&O, security, and developer-experience teams to scale operations.
Nice to Have
- Experience packaging reference architectures as code and integrating them into an Internal Developer Platform.
- Familiarity with working across AWS, GCP, and Azure resource packs and their common resource definitions.
- Prior exposure to pre-configured Resource Packs and standardized tooling.
