The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Build, run and support dependable services for a software platform deployed in customer environments. Partner with field and product engineers on design, automation and production support, including a share of on-call coverage.
What you'll do

Run and support deployed software, covering health monitoring, alerts, settings management and version upgrades.

Roll out new products at customer sites and move existing deployments onto newer infrastructure.

Investigate and tune services and underlying infrastructure so they stay stable and can grow over time.

Replace repetitive manual work with automation, scripts and runbooks.

Diagnose production incidents and restore service quickly with limited disruption.

Join a rotating on-call support schedule.

Work with field and product teams on sound, scalable system design.

Requirements

What we're looking for
-
Strong Java skills.

Current U.S. security clearance at Secret level or above; clearances that are lapsed, expired or still in process do not qualify.

Experience shipping and running production systems, not only troubleshooting them.

Comfort solving coding problems in real time and structuring a problem into logical steps.

Hands-on production experience with containers and orchestration platforms.

Experience in defense technology or another technically demanding organization.

A bachelor's-level degree in computer science, computer engineering or a closely related field, with solid grounding in the fundamentals.

No interview with the company in the past 12 months.

Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.

Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools or CI/CD pipelines.
