Do your Best Work in Mooresville
This position is based at our headquarters in Mooresville, North Carolina. Our corporate office is a space where you can collaborate and do your best work. Take a walk, grab a bite (or a cup of coffee), work out or get a check-up – we invest in you so you can find your inspiration.
Your Impact The primary purpose of this role is to deliver infrastructure solutions in support of components of larger project-based solutions. This includes assisting (and occasionally delivering more independently at smaller project component scale) more senior level engineers with infrastructure planning, engineering, and architecture for assigned systems. This role will support one or two platforms within a single infrastructure engineering domain.
What You Will Do
- Implement solutions requirements and functional specifications that support integrated and sustainable designs for designated infrastructure systems with guidance, as needed.
- Collaborate with other engineers to ensure flexible, scalable, and maintainable infrastructure systems are delivered.
- Work with more senior level engineers to provide recommendations and input on options, risks, and benefits for infrastructure systems designs.
- Write and review clear technical specifications and documentation.
- Develop or modify infrastructure solutions within designated computing environments.
- Develop and validate basic system design prototypes, ensuring system designs adhere to company architecture standards.
- Build basic hardware and/or software configurations and prepare system components for installation to the infrastructure.
- Develop, validate, and execute basic infrastructure tests to identify system errors and ensure solutions meet functional specifications. Validate and test smaller, more basic components of larger infrastructure systems and revise key system components based on test results as appropriate.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of assigned enterprise infrastructure systems to ensure successful deployment and operation by developing and documenting detailed standards for the introduction and maintenance of services.
- Collaborate with technology partners to help define and understand target strategies.
- Evaluate new service options and identify issues and impacts.
- Provide post-implementation support and make system enhancements as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems (CIS), or related field or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
- 2 years of experience in an IT support environment with technical experience in distributed technologies and systems development
Preferred Skills/Education
- Master’s degree in computer science, CIS, or related field
- 2 years of experience leading projects with or without direct reports
- Experience working in a large matrixed organization
- Experience working with third-party IT vendors and/or systems solution providers
- Experience writing technical documentation in an infrastructure development environment
