About this role
A highly skilled Infrastructure Engineer III with focus on Exadata, ZDLRA administration, and Oracle Database supports JPMorgan Chase in Bengaluru, Karnataka. You will apply your strong knowledge of software, applications, and infrastructure engineering practices to projects of moderate scope, ensuring end-to-end monitoring and reliable operations across multiple applications and technologies.
Responsibilities
- Apply technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, focusing on improving data and systems running at scale and ensuring end-to-end monitoring of applications.
- Use enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to accelerate monitoring, capacity analysis, and documentation; validate outputs and handle operational data according to sensitivity and security requirements, determining escalation paths as needed.
- Execute conventional approaches to breaking down and solving technical problems while considering upstream and downstream data and systems.
- Drive daily activities supporting standard capacity processes, partnering with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statuses.
- Make significant decisions for projects spanning multiple technologies and applications.
- Apply reuse-first, AI-assisted approaches to identify recurring capacity risks and improve remediation workflows, ensuring changes are validated and aligned with resiliency and security expectations.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in infrastructure engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
- Strong knowledge of at least one infrastructure discipline (hardware, networking, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, performance).
- Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to support infrastructure engineering workflows with solid validation practices and awareness of data sensitivity; ability to review and validate AI-assisted recommendations before implementation, escalating when uncertain and ensuring outcomes align with resiliency, security, and auditability expectations.
- Proficiency in one or more scripting languages.
- Hands-on production operations experience administering Oracle Exadata Database Machine in enterprise environments, with deep knowledge of Oracle RAC, ASM, Grid Infrastructure, and high-availability patterns, including incident response and rapid restoration.
- Practical knowledge of Oracle Exadata KVM hosts and Exadata-hosted VMs in production, including day-2 administration, health monitoring, safe maintenance, and troubleshooting across VM-to-host performance, network, and storage interactions.
- Ability to manage virtualization changes under governance with clear sequencing, risk controls, and validation.
- Strong Linux administration for Oracle platforms, including system tuning, service management, and incident/maintenance troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation for systems and operations (shell scripting, Python, and/or Ansible).
- Experience with multiple cloud technologies and the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds.
- Preferred: experience operating or supporting Oracle Exascale capabilities and day-2 run procedures at scale; experience with enterprise automation and infrastructure toolchains (Ansible, Terraform, Git workflows); managing Exadata-hosted VM fleets at scale and Oracle Linux KVM tooling; cloud and hybrid patterns involving Exadata and Oracle services with emphasis on reliability, change safety, and observability; exposure to enterprise monitoring platforms (e.g., Oracle Enterprise Manager) and modern observability practices across metrics, logs, and traces with actionable alerting and baselines.
