About this role

About the Role The Structures Inspector will help ensure the safety and quality of concrete structural work on capital projects. You’ll inspect concrete structures and related items, review compliance with approved plans and relevant codes, and support constructability reviews on client sites to keep projects moving safely and efficiently. What You'll Do

  • Inspect concrete structures and associated items including prestressed post-tension bridges, retaining walls, box culverts, sound walls, falsework, CIDH piles, steel piles, anchor bolts, sheet piles, reinforcement, and soil nail walls
  • Ensure compliance with approved plans, City/State/Federal construction and safety standards and codes
  • Review structure shop drawings to confirm they meet contractual requirements
  • Perform field inspections and clarify plans with Engineer of Record, clients or contractors
  • Make recommendations during constructability reviews; support the RFI process during construction
  • Attend weekly on-site construction meetings; provide photo/video documentation
  • Attend seminars and training to stay informed on code changes and new developments
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and managers
  • Work onsite at client locations (day and night shifts); collaborate with clients, peers, leaders, and communities What We're Looking For
  • BS or higher in Engineering, Architecture or Building Construction OR Associate’s degree with additional paid experience OR 5 years of related earned experience; minimum 2 years of verified structural inspection experience
  • 2+ years of verified structural inspection experience
  • Bonus points for Caltrans and Metro inspection certifications; highway project experience with Caltrans
  • Knowledge of Caltrans and Metro policies/procedures related to quality; knowledge of standard plans, specifications, California Test Methods, and various construction manuals
  • Knowledge of cast-in-place bridge experience with hinges, retaining walls, precast concrete girders, and CIDH piles
  • Verbal, written, and oral communication skills with ability to multitask; team player and solution-oriented
  • Certifications such as CMIT, ACI, NICET, APWA are a plus Nice to Have
  • Relevant Caltrans and Metro inspection certifications
  • Additional highway project experience Compensation & Benefits
  • Hourly rate: $67 - $92 USD per hour
