Job title: Information Security Engineer
About the Role The Cyber Defense organization at Intel is seeking an Information Security Engineer to support offensive and defensive security operations across multiple enterprise environments. You will join a collaborative Agile DevOps team responsible for proactively identifying and remediating vulnerabilities, conducting threat assessments, and implementing robust security measures to protect Intel's assets, systems, and applications.
What You'll Do
- Configure, manage, and operate core platforms within Cyber Defense (e.g., vulnerability/application scanning, security patching, asset discovery/identification, exposure management).
- Perform external attack surface management: attack path analysis, exposure exploitability analysis, and tactical remediation and containment of high-risk exposures.
- Verify effectiveness of security controls across Intel enterprise systems, infrastructure, and applications; recommend remediation actions.
- Evaluate threat intelligence to determine potential risk to Intel.
- Understand and emulate adversary Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures to assess security posture across systems.
- Collaborate with software development engineers, system engineers, and other information security teams on projects and initiatives.
- Develop and support security solutions that interface with customers/business units.
- Produce quality reporting documentation tailored to the audience.
- Be a team player within the Cyber Defense organization and cross-functional teams.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in information security engineering with emphasis on vulnerability management, threat assessment, and security controls validation.
- Knowledge of vulnerability scanning, security patching, asset discovery/identification, and exposure management.
- Familiarity with attack surface analysis, exploitation risk assessment, and containment strategies.
- Ability to evaluate threat intelligence and determine risk to the organization.
- Understanding adversary TTPs and the ability to emulate them to assess security posture.
- Strong collaboration skills with software/hardware engineers and other security teams.
- Excellent written reporting and the ability to tailor content to different audiences.
- Passion for quality, security, automation, and continual improvement.
Nice to Have
- Experience developing/operating security automation or AI-enabled security models.
- Experience integrating security solutions with DevOps/CI-CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of cloud, application, and network security across enterprise environments.
