Job title: Industrial Vacuum Furnace Specialist
About the Role Join Materials Research Furnaces, LLC to support the application and sale of industrial vacuum furnaces. This role focuses on tailoring furnace specifications to customer process needs, including maximum temperatures, hot-zone types, and vacuum/pumping configurations, and guiding quotation requests.
What You'll Do
- Assist customers in specifying vacuum furnace requirements, including options for tungsten or graphite hot zones and operation in vacuum or inert gas environments.
- Prepare furnace quotations and specify target vacuum levels and pumping system types based on process parameters and gas loads.
- Explain and promote the design features of the vacuum chamber (double-walled, water-cooled 304L stainless steel, electro-polished) and their impact on vacuum integrity.
- Collaborate with engineering and sales to identify available hot zone sizes and pumping configurations to meet customer specifications.
- Support installation, commissioning, and after-sales technical guidance for vacuum furnaces.
- Advise on selecting vacuum equipment (roughing pumps, diffusion/ turbo/ cryogenic high-vacuum systems) to achieve required pressures (down to 10-10 Torr) as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Knowledge of industrial vacuum furnaces and associated pumping systems.
- Ability to interpret process parameters and translate them into equipment configurations.
- Experience supporting quotations and technical guidance for furnace purchases.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with engineering and sales teams.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with high-vacuum systems (diffusion, turbo, cryogenic).
- Understanding of 304L stainless steel vacuum chambers and electro-polished finishes.
- Awareness of pressure requirements (down to 10-10 Torr) and related process considerations.
