We're looking for an Industrial Placement Civil Engineering Student to join our Infrastructure team, You will be working in the Water sector and assist on large projects on our Southern Water Framework across East Sussex. Location: Falmer, East Sussex

Starting Salary: £27,798 per annum

Pathway: 12 Months – 40hrs per week, with the potential to lead onto a Graduate position

Starting date: September 2027

What you will be responsible for?

As an Industrial Placement Civil Engineer, you'll be assisting in the planning & coordination, design & management of construction projects and on-site activities in managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of infrastructure projects. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience, receive mentorship from experienced professionals, and develop a strong foundation in quantity surveying.

What will your day-to-day duties include?

• Assisting in the planning, execution, and management of projects relevant to your field of study.
• Collaborating with team members and stakeholders to support project objectives.
• Conducting research and analysis to inform project decisions and strategies.
• Preparing reports, presentations, and documentation related to project activities.
• Participating in team meetings and contribute to problem-solving and decision-making processes.

The programme will take 12-months to complete and has been designed to immerse yourself in the world of construction, you'll get to see your learnings in real world situations and gain practical experiences to support the rest of your degree.

What are we looking for?

We're on the lookout for students undertaking a degree in Civil Engineering, who have the option or requirement to complete a placement year from 2027 - 2028. After your placement, you'll be returning to university with a graduation year of 2029.

• Strong interest in construction engineering and project management.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.
