Location: Richmond, VA Job Type: Contract-to-Hire Starting Pay: $34.67/hour, with higher rates available depending on experience Schedule: 2-3-2 schedule, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM; overtime and weekends may be required

Position Overview

Seeking a Multicraft Industrial Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial production equipment. This role requires strong mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and welding skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment.

  • Diagnose hydraulic systems, including valves and pressure controls.

  • Troubleshoot electrical systems, including PLCs, fuses, motors, megameters, light curtains, and area scanners.

  • Maintain pneumatic systems, air cylinders, and fluid controls.

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, including lubrication, alignment, adjustments, and cleaning.

  • Complete equipment repairs and fabrication using MIG and stick welding.

  • Install and set up new equipment and machinery.

  • Maintain and repair hydraulic presses, conveyor systems, rollers, chains, sprockets, and billet furnaces.

  • Support equipment reliability and shutdown maintenance activities.

  • Safely operate mobile equipment when required.

  • Document completed maintenance and repair work.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all safety procedures.

  • Assist with maintenance projects, equipment improvements, and troubleshooting activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Industrial maintenance experience required.

  • Multicraft maintenance experience with strong mechanical and electrical skills.

  • Hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.

  • Experience with MIG and stick welding for equipment repair/fabrication.

  • Ability to troubleshoot PLCs and electrical components.

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Reliable attendance and ability to work effectively with a team.

  • Ability to work in a physically demanding industrial environment.

  • Preferred: Completed 3–4 year apprenticeship/Journeyman Card or an associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Industrial Maintenance.
