About the Role Industrial Maintenance Mechanic at ContiTech USA, Inc. is responsible for mechanical upkeep of equipment within the facilities and campus. This role supports preventive maintenance and repairs, and serves as a learning path from Maintenance Tech to Journeyman’s card; Master Mechanic requires Journeyworker’s card and additional specialized coursework to advance knowledge in the maintenance field. What You'll Do
- Complete required training and maintain equipment and facilities using standard processes
- Complete repairs and preventive maintenance (PMs) timely and accurately
- Progress toward gaining a standard skillset (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, PLCs, robotics, blueprint interpretation, troubleshooting)
- Change shifts or work overtime as needed; on occasion perform duties other than those specified in this description
- After 8000 work hours or 10 years documented experience, apply for Journeyman’s card; Master Mechanic requires Journeyworker’s card and additional approved specialized coursework
- Be prepared to coordinate with customers and engineers, and to answer questions (internal/external); ensure safety rules and procedures are followed
- Wear steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, and earplugs in manufacturing areas; work in a noisy environment with exposure to carbon black dust; stay current on applicable compliance and skills trainings
- Stand for extended periods and be able to lift up to 30 pounds What We're Looking For
- Basic Qualifications – Maintenance Tech: High School Diploma; 3 years technical background or experience; Mechanical aptitude; ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); good communication; ability to submit to a panel interview
- Ability to work within safety rules and stay current on compliance trainings; ability to assign, coordinate, and answer questions for customers (internal/external)
- Willingness to work in a noisy environment and be exposed to carbon black dust; ability to see forklifts on the floor
- Flexibility to change shifts and work overtime; ability to make decisions with broad guidelines; work with engineers and management on production jobs and new requirements
- Must wear PPE in manufacturing areas; 10 years of technical background for Master Mechanic; 80% minimum on the maintenance department skills matrix for advancement Nice to Have
- Journeyworker's card for Master Mechanic; additional approved specialized courses to further job knowledge Compensation & Benefits
- Start with a $1,000 sign-on bonus, and earn an additional $1,000 after successfully completing six months
