About the Role Nexteer Automotive Saginaw is seeking an Industrial Machine Repair professional to maintain and repair industrial equipment across manufacturing operations. The role emphasizes safety as a top priority and requires self-starting, team-oriented individuals who can coach/mentor fellow employees.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues on industrial equipment across multiple production lines
- Read and interpret hydraulic and pneumatic prints/cads; understand chemical/oil/water-based fluid systems
- Piping, threading, tubing, and steam fitting work; fixture and mechanical repairs on equipment
- Spindle repair and lubrication system maintenance
- Operate tool room equipment (lathe, mill, saw, drill press)
- Use oxygen/acetylene torch; operate forklifts
- Install ballscrews into machines; indicate spindles/chucks/shafts/linear bearings
- Perform bearing installation; rigging with chains, slings and chokers using mobile/overhead cranes
- Experience with assembly lines, machining cells, stamping presses, plastic injection, grinding machines, CNC machines
- May participate in additional classroom training; compensation and status for Journeyman in Training determined by credentials and interview scoring

- Ability to coach/mentor fellow employees
- Journeyman’s card or completion of a Department of Labor certified program; or experience as Industrial Machine Repairer (preferably 6 years) or minimum 4 years relevant experience
- Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting industrial equipment
- Ability to read/understand hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid system prints; knowledge of bearings and installation
- Forklift operation, cranes rigging experience, and comfort with factory floor environments
- Willingness to participate in additional classroom training; Journeyman in Training status possible with compensation based on credentials/interview

- Journeyperson in Training status with compensation determined by certificates/credentials (if applicable)
