Job title: Industrial Journeyman Carpenter
About the Role The Industrial Journeyman Carpenter will construct, dismantle, and repair wooden and metal objects and/or concrete forms on industrial construction projects. This role requires reading blueprints, sketches, or building plans, following safety rules, and applying carpentry skills on site.
What You'll Do
- Read blueprints, sketches, or building plans to perform duties proficiently.
- Construct, dismantle, and repair wooden and metal objects and/or concrete forms.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations; adhere to site rules and wear required PPE.
- Possess carpentry experience and experience working on an industrial construction project.
- Use all required tools; measure, mark, and cut equipment and materials to specification.
- Compute basic arithmetic functions as needed; maintain a full work schedule with overtime as required.
- Be willing to assist other crafts and perform additional job duties while not performing primary craft duties.
- Maintain reliable transportation and meet physical requirements; work in various weather conditions.
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years working as a carpenter or carpenter helper on an industrial construction project.
- Proficient in reading blueprints, plans, and drawings.
- Knowledge of materials, tools, and processes involved with basic building techniques and form construction.
- Able to compute basic arithmetic; measure, mark, and cut equipment/materials to specification.
- Able to work a full work schedule and any overtime as needed.
- Willing to assist other crafts and perform additional duties as required.
- Willing to work safely and follow all safety rules and regulations.
- Must have all required tools and reliable transportation.
- Must follow all company and site rules and regulations.
- Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, squatting, lifting, and working at heights; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; work in all weather conditions with PPE.
Nice to Have
- Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’ed employee.
- NCCER certification for Industrial Journeyman Carpenter.
- Formal/Technical education.
- Experience working with concrete and rebar.
