Industrial Hygienist
The Industrial Hygienist is responsible for protecting employees and contractors from workplace health hazards by identifying, assessing, monitoring, and supporting the control of occupational exposures within the refinery. The role supports regulatory compliance, occupational health programmes, incident investigations, and accurate hygiene reporting to promote a safe and healthy working environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct exposure assessments for noise, heat stress, radiation, airborne contaminants.
- Recommend engineering, administrative, and PPE controls.
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian Factories Act and NUPRC/NMDPRA HSE requirements.
- Support occupational health programs such as medical surveillance, respiratory protection, HCP.
- Participate in incident investigations.
- Maintain sampling logs, calibration certificates, and IH reports
Key Requirements
- Required: B.Sc/B.Tech in OHS, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Chemistry, or related field.
- Preferred: M.Sc in Industrial Hygiene or Environmental Health; NEBOSH/OSHA certifications
- Experience of more than 5 years in the field of refinery or 10 years of experience in industrial setup
