Reports To: Occupational Health Head
Job Summary
- The Industrial Hygienist is responsible for protecting employees and contractors from workplace health hazards by identifying, assessing, monitoring, and supporting the control of occupational exposures within the refinery.
- The role supports regulatory compliance, occupational health programmes, incident investigations, and accurate hygiene reporting to promote a safe and healthy working environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct exposure assessments for noise, heat stress, radiation, airborne contaminants.
- Recommend engineering, administrative, and PPE controls.
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian Factories Act and NUPRC/NMDPRA HSE requirements.
- Support occupational health programs such as medical surveillance, respiratory protection, HCP.
- Participate in incident investigations.
- Maintain sampling logs, calibration certificates, and IH reports
Key Requirements
- Required: B.Sc/B.Tech in OHS, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Chemistry, or related field.
- Preferred: M.Sc in Industrial Hygiene or Environmental Health; NEBOSH/OSHA certifications
- Experience of more then 5 years in the field of refinery or 10 years of experience in industrial setup.
