Job title: Industrial Engineer
About the Role Industrial Engineer at DHL Supply Chain will drive operational performance across multiple sites, manage layouts and processes, and lead continuous improvement initiatives for our customers to optimize cost, quality, safety, and ergonomics that impact profitability.
What You'll Do
- Work independently to manage deadlines and prioritize your workload to achieve results.
- Provide support with layout, design, improvement, and implementation to enable peak site performance.
- Champion Continuous Improvement initiatives and projects for the customer, identifying and implementing cost reduction, quality, safety, and ergonomic improvements.
- Participate in management circles and collaborate with operations teams, vendors, customers, and government entities as needed.
- Deliver results with a direct impact on profitability.
- Conduct GEMBA walks with operations and perform time studies to translate findings into actionable data.
- Use flowcharting software and document process steps; develop relationships with vendors, suppliers, operators, and support functions for problem solving.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or equivalent; required.
- 0-4 years of experience in distribution or logistics; required.
- Experience with distribution, logistics, project management preferred.
- Some knowledge of Industrial Engineering; preferred.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations (inbound, put away, pick, pack, ship).
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and making layout changes.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement concepts and identifying opportunities.
- Strong analytical skills; able to perform time studies.
- Ability to use flowcharting software and outline process steps.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with outside organizations (vendors, customers, government).
- Problem-solving mindset; ability to identify problems and develop solutions; build cross-functional relationships.
- Ability to gain understanding of processes to identify areas of opportunity.

- GEMBA walk experience; ability to engage with frontline teams to identify opportunities.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $70,000 - $115,000 (national); California: $70,304 - $115,000; Washington: $80,169 - $115,000.
