Industrial Electrician

CGT
Cambridge, Ontario
Full-timeOn-site

About this role

Are you looking for a new opportunity that also allows for work/life balance?

Are you a licensed 442A or 309A Electrician with strong industrial troubleshooting skills who wants to maximize their personal time?

CGT is seeking an Industrial Electrician for our manufacturing facility in Cambridge, Ontario.

We run a unique 4-week rotating schedule module where you work just 11 shifts per month. Your paychecks are always kept completely whole at 40 hours every single week, giving you significant "gifted" straight-time hours when you aren’t on the floor:

  • The Rotation: 36 hours (3 shifts) for three weeks, and a short 24 hours (2 shifts) for one week (12-Hour Shifts, Days & Nights). You work weekends only if overtime opportunities requires it. Overtime is not mandatory.
  • The Earning Power: Because you receive 40 hours of pay for fewer hours worked, your effective cash-for-time ratio is $54.12 per hour on the floor.
  • The Calculation: *
  • The Lifestyle Advantage: Your core monthly schedule guarantees an extensive amount of full days off.
  • You work only 11 shifts per 4-week cycle (Average of ~33 hours on-site per week).
  • That is 17 scheduled days off every 4-week cycle (Averaging 18+ days off per month).
  • Immediate Overtime: Any hours or shifts worked beyond your regular weekly schedule are paid at overtime premium rates. This schedule model means a 45% reduction in your monthly commute—saving you substantial time and fuel costs over the year.

Why Join CGT?

  • Exceptional Work-Life Balance: Our 3-3-3-2 shift structure provides extended blocks of consecutive time off while maintaining full 40-hour weekly paychecks.
  • Strong Base Earning Power: Standard 40-hour straight-time pay model yielding ~$92,870/year base prior to overtime.
  • Overtime Advantage: You do not need to work 40 physical hours to trigger overtime; extra shifts or hours worked beyond your regular schedule for the week are paid at overtime premiums.
  • Retirement & Healthcare: Company-matching Pension Plan plus comprehensive health, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
  • Allowances & Programs: Annual tool replacement allowance, safety boot reimbursement, prescription safety eyewear program, and work coveralls provided.
