About the Role

Join ExxonMobil's Global Tax team in Budapest as part of the Indirect Tax Compliance team, delivering timely and accurate VAT compliance for ExxonMobil affiliates across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. You will prepare VAT declarations, statistical returns, and related analyses across ERP systems, ensuring proper submission and payment to authorities, and supporting audits and process improvements.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and submit VAT returns, payments, and statistical declarations.
• Apply tax laws and business scenarios to ensure accurate reporting.
• Perform VAT account reconciliations and resolve outstanding items.
• Analyze filing trends to identify and prevent errors.
• Support tax audits through analysis and timely responses.
• Coordinate with Tax Advisors and external consultants where needed.
• Implement best practices and support process improvements.
• Maintain internal controls and related documentation.
• Escalate critical issues and key metrics to management.

What We're Looking For

• Finance degree with 2-4 years of relevant experience.
• Fluency in English; additional EU language is an advantage.
• Self-starter with strong analytical, problem-solving and controls mindset.
• Solid understanding of VAT, accounting concepts, and tax compliance processes.
• Ability to quickly absorb business procedures, internal controls, accounting guidelines, and related systems.
• Comfortable working with digital tools; SAP experience is an advantage.
• High attention to detail and accuracy; strong digital skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence, collaborate, and work effectively in a team.
• Capable of managing priorities, meeting deadlines, and coordinating across multiple functions.
• Continuous improvement mindset; willingness to challenge existing processes.
• Effective in a virtual, multicultural environment.

Nice to Have

• SAP/ERP experience is an advantage.
