Job title: Indirect Purchasing Buyer
About the Role As an Indirect Purchasing Buyer at Yazaki's Ploiesti plant, you will plan and oversee indirect materials and services, support budget planning and internal controls, and partner with multiple departments to ensure smooth procurement operations. You will vendor evaluate and negotiate with suppliers, identify cost savings opportunities, and lead parts of the supplier and contract lifecycle to support Yazaki affiliates.
What You'll Do
- Optimal planning of plant indirect materials and services acquisitions using the optimal resources and systems
- Contribute to budget planning activities and implement continuously effective internal control tools to deliver the required financial results
- Monitor and advise on risks or opportunities; monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers
- Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments, and communicate any supply problems which may impact business operations
- Contract services and discounts for YRL and Country Yazaki affiliates
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers according to Yazaki’s procedures; negotiate offers, prepare comparative cost analysis & reports
- Work closely with Category Buyers in order to identify cost savings opportunities
- Prepare and submit SAS package for approval for SM Approval
- Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings; Send and track the purchase orders to the suppliers
- Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures during supplier negotiations and contracts award process
- Other tasks allocated by the Line manager and Co-manager in line with the job responsibilities
- Lead, recruit, train and develop the purchasing team
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Accounting, Law or a related field required
- Previous experience in a strategic purchasing role: 1-3 years is a plus
- Fluent in English
- Good knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, commercial understanding and cost breakdown; SAP
