Inbound Team Lead (Jumia Nigeria)

Section: About the Role The Inbound Team Lead will supervise and lead a team of inbound operators, ensuring the efficient and accurate receipt, inspection, and storage of incoming goods and materials. The role oversees the entire receiving process while driving productivity, safety, and team performance within the inbound area.

Section: Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead inbound operators, providing guidance, support, and coaching.
• Oversee the receiving process, including shipment verification, inspection, and inventory recording.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Inventory Management, and Operations teams to resolve discrepancies and process returns.
• Assign tasks and ensure compliance with SOPs and safety guidelines.
• Train new team members on inbound processes, equipment operation, and safety procedures.
• Monitor workflow and productivity, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Conduct inspections of inbound areas and equipment to ensure safety, cleanliness, and organization.
• Provide performance feedback, evaluations, and development support to team members.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts and physical inventories.

Section: Requirements

• Proven experience in warehouse operations, inbound receiving, or a related field with leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of receiving, inspection, and inventory management processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to operate material-handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks; certification is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory management tools.
• Flexibility to work variable shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when required.
