About this role

Description

  • Everything we do starts with people.

  • Our human-centric focus is what makes us different from all other car companies, and it’s at the heart of everything we create. If you want to join us in our mission to make people’s lives less complicated, we offer you a chance to grow together with talented people who want to make a true difference.

  • What’s in it for you?

  • Safe Vehicle Automation (SVA), consist of around 600 skilled engineers who are responsible for everything from research and advanced engineering, to implementation, verification and validation of current and future customer offers in the area of Safety, Vehicle control and Autonomous Drive. Nested within SVA is the department of AD/ADAS Functions, we develop functions such as Collision Avoidance, Low Speed Assistance, Pilot Assist, connected safety and pave the way towards Autonomous Driving (AD). We develop and integrate functionality and SW into a complete product, making use of sensor input such as radar, camera, ultrasonic and lidar, that build a comprehensive perception of the car’s surroundings.

  • We are offering you the opportunity to be a part of a team where we learn every day, challenge each other, and give continuous feedback. Your long-term competence plan will include steps to expand your knowledge and contributions within many competence areas that are within your interest or needed in the team.

What you’ll do

  • In this role, you will verify and validate advanced driver support functions with a strong focus on in-vehicle testing and real customer-relevant driving situations. You will plan, prepare, and execute tests in complete vehicles, on proving grounds and public roads, and use complementary rig or simulation environments when needed. Your work will include evaluating functional behavior, performance, robustness, usability, and customer experience, and turning your findings into clear feedback for development teams. By combining structured verification methods with hands-on vehicle understanding, you will help ensure that our functions are safe, reliable, intuitive, and valuable for customers.

  • Do you fit the profile?

  • You are a hands-on engineer who enjoys being close to the vehicle and understanding how advanced functions behave in real driving.

  • You combine technical curiosity with a structured way of working and a strong interest in the customer experience.

  • You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation and Control, Automotive Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

  • You have hands-on experience from complete vehicle testing, preferably within ADAS, active safety, automated driving, or other customer-facing vehicle functions.

  • You are comfortable planning, preparing, executing, and documenting physical tests in vehicles, including test setup, test object readiness, route preparation, proving-ground activities, and structured test reporting.

  • You have experience with verification and validation methods, including test scenario definition, pass/fail criteria, deviation handling, and feedback to development teams.

  • You can assess function behavior from both a technical and customer perspective, considering comfort, trust, usability, availability, perceived quality, and overall driving experience.

  • You can analyze vehicle logs and test results to support troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement of function performance.

  • You understand in-vehicle communication, diagnostics, data logging, and common automotive test tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer, CANape, INCA, DLT, or similar.

  • Basic scripting or automation skills, for example in Python, are valuable for log analysis, test preparation, and improving test efficiency.

  • Experience from HIL, SIL, rigs, simulation, or CI/CD-based verification is meritorious, especially when used to complement and focus physical vehicle testing.

  • You are used to collaborating across disciplines with function developers, system designers, software engineers, test leads, fleet coordinators, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

  • You have a valid Swedish B driving license and are comfortable performing structured testing in real vehicles.

  • Additional driver training, proving-ground experience, safety-driver experience, or customer-oriented fleet testing experience is considered meritorious.

  • Who are you?

  • You are self-driven, structured, and practical, with a genuine interest in vehicles, technology, and how advanced functions are experienced by the people using them. You enjoy testing in real conditions, observing details, and understanding the difference between a function that technically works and one that feels natural, safe, and confidence-inspiring.

  • You communicate clearly, take ownership of your findings, and like working together with others to turn observations from the vehicle into actionable improvements. You are comfortable moving between hands-on testing, technical analysis, and customer-oriented discussions, always with the goal of making our functions robust, intuitive, and valuable in everyday driving.
