Imports Specialist Mexico International Trade Latam
The Imports Analyst is responsible for coordinating import operations end-to-end, ensuring product availability, compliance, and efficient execution. The role works closely with suppliers, customs brokers, carriers, warehouses, and internal teams to support supply continuity, optimize logistics processes, and drive continuous improvement across import operations
What will you do:
- Coordinate end-to-end import operations across North America, South America, EMEA, and APAC, supporting ocean, land, and air transportation, with a strong focus on ocean freight.
- Manage purchase orders, supplier pickups, customs clearance, and final delivery to warehouses and distribution centers.
- Monitor inbound shipments, transportation capacity, and proactively resolve operational disruptions.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, international trade requirements, and company policies.
- Review and validate import documentation, customs declarations, invoices, and certificates of origin.
- Coordinate with customs brokers, carriers, warehouses, suppliers, and government authorities to ensure smooth import execution.
- Analyze logistics and transportation costs, identifying opportunities for service improvements and cost savings.
- Monitor carrier performance and support freight negotiations, routing strategies, and logistics optimization initiatives.
- Partner closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, Customer Service, Finance, Operations, Quality, and Commercial teams.
- Act as the primary point of contact for import-related operational issues and escalation management.
- Track import KPIs and prepare reports to support operational and business decision-making.
- Drive continuous improvement, process standardization, and digitalization initiatives using tools such as SAP, Excel, and Power BI.
What will you bring:
- 3+ years of experience in International Trade, Import Operations, Logistics, Customs, or Supply Chain.
- Experience coordinating imports via ocean, air, and ground transportation, with strong knowledge of ocean freight.
- Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal).
- Knowledge of Mexican Customs Law, import regulations, trade compliance, and import documentation.
- Experience using SAP ERP (GTS/OSGT preferred).
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with reporting/analytics tools such as Power BI.
