Import Trade Operations Specialist

About the Role The Import Trade Operations Specialist ensures the company's compliance with U.S. and Canada import regulations and acts as a subject matter expert to support internal teams and external partners in the smooth, compliant import of goods. What You'll Do

• Compliance Management: Manage and ensure full compliance with CBP regulations and other OGAs.
• HTS Classification: Review, audit, and maintain accurate HTS classifications.
• Documentation Review: Review import documents for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare information for value reconciliation filings.
• Customs Broker Liaison: Work with customs brokers to resolve issues and optimize import processes.
• Audit Support: Assist in audits, post-entry reviews, and compliance assessments.
• Regulatory Expertise: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of 19 CFR and related trade compliance laws.
• Communication & Collaboration: Communicate with internal teams and external partners on import logistics and compliance matters.
• Prioritization & Time Management: Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. What We're Looking For
• Minimum of 3+ years in trade compliance, import logistics and compliance operations.
• Strong understanding of U.S. import regulations, HTS, customs valuation, and OGA requirements.
• Proven HTS classification expertise and ability to classify a wide range of products.
• Document analysis skills to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong organizational skills.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; employer sponsorship not available. Nice to Have
• Experience with Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ).
• Knowledge of Duty Drawback programs.
• Expertise in Country of Origin determination.
• Familiarity with Incoterms.
• Understanding of USMCA and other trade programs.
• Familiarity with export logistics and operations. Compensation & Benefits
• Salary: Target Base $85,000 – $100,000 annually.
