About the Role IFPTE Local 21 Representative / Organizer based in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA, seeks a Representative/Organizer to represent members and build power for working professionals. The role involves recruiting and developing member leaders, handling collective bargaining and contract administration, and building political power and coalitions that advance justice and equity for working people. What You'll Do
- Recruit and develop member leaders; build and activate strong chapters
- Represent members in collective bargaining and contract administration; lead contract campaigns
- Oversee grievance processing and decision making on whether to arbitrate
- Organize new units and recruit/activate members
- Lobby and engage in political action; build coalitions
- Work collaboratively with other staff; contribute to staff development What We're Looking For
- At least two years of experience working independently on organizational and representational issues
- Experience developing member leaders and running effective chapters
- Experience negotiating contracts and leading contract campaigns
- Track record in promoting member activism and an organizing approach to contract administration
- Experience organizing new units and recruiting/activating members; lobbying and political action
- Ability to work cooperatively with other staff; commitment to continual self-development Nice to Have

- History of success in developing member leaders and achieving standards for members and communities Compensation & Benefits Salary: $92,116 – $173,305 annually, depending on experience.
