About the Role

Baker Tilly is hiring to support the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) with assurance and advisory services in the Construction and Real Estate sectors, based at IDOT's Springfield, IL headquarters. You will help ensure quality compliance and contribute to one of the nation’s largest state transportation systems, engaging with clients throughout the year and supporting Single Audit work.

What You'll Do

• Proactively engage with the client to gather information for Single Audit testing, respond to questions, and follow up as needed.

• Perform substantive testing as required.

• Test for deficiencies in internal controls and discuss recommendations for improvement.

• Review and analyze billing costs to ensure compliance with rules and regulations; investigate discrepancies and escalate as appropriate.

• Learn and grow through on-the-job coaching and firm-wide learning programs, and network with clients and internal teams.

• What We're Looking For

• Minimum: 4-year degree and 1 year of professional experience.

• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.

• Demonstrated skills in communication, relationship building, collaboration, problem solving, initiative and adaptability.

• Highly developed Microsoft Office Suite skills.

• Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.

• Nice to Have

• Experience in Construction and Real Estate industries.

• Knowledge of Single Audits under Uniform Guidance and government auditing.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.

• Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $62,000 - $95,610 USD per year.
