Ericsson is the tech company that helped create the mobile world, with more than 54,000 patents to our name. When you join Ericsson, you are empowered to learn, lead, and perform at your best — shaping the future of technology in a place where you are welcomed as your authentic self.

Based in New Albany, Ohio, we are looking for a people-centered, results-driven manager to build, lead, and sustain a high-performing team of Data Center Technicians. This role is essential to attracting top technical talent, enabling their success through strong onboarding and engagement, and retaining them through effective leadership, development, and workforce planning. The ideal candidate balances operational rigor — including agile management of project ramp-up and ramp-down — with strong coaching skills and a passion for creating an environment where technicians can thrive.

What you will do

  • Build and inspire a high-performing technical team through trust, inclusion, accountability, safety, and continuous learning.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to attract, assess, and hire exceptional data center technicians in a competitive talent market.
  • Lead an effective technician onboarding experience through practical training, mentoring, and early-career support.
  • Develop technical talent and future leaders through coaching, feedback, career planning, recognition, and growth opportunities.
  • Own workforce planning by aligning staffing, skills, shifts, and coverage with customer and business needs.
  • Manage technician ramp-up and ramp-down for large projects while adapting quickly to changing workforce and delivery requirements.
  • Drive operational excellence across installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, hardware lifecycle management, inventory, and documentation.
  • Champion safety, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement across all team activities and data center operations.
  • Lead incident response and critical escalations through clear communication, root-cause analysis, and effective corrective actions.
  • Build strong customer and cross-functional partnerships to deliver reliable and resilient data center operations.

The skills you bring

  • 7+ years of experience in data center operations, IT infrastructure, or a similar technical environment.
  • 4+ years of direct people-management experience leading technical or operations teams.
  • Proven ability to hire, coach, develop, motivate, and retain technical talent.
  • Strong workforce planning, demand forecasting, resource allocation, and shift-management skills.
  • Working knowledge of data center infrastructure, hardware lifecycle management, and technician operations.
  • Experience leading incident response, escalations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, compliance, and operational discipline.
  • Data-driven approach to performance management, staffing decisions, and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with customers, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
  • High ownership, resilience, adaptability, attention to detail, and commitment to an inclusive team culture.

Physical requirements

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time
