About the Role PacifiCorp is seeking a Hydro Journeyman Mechanic to perform maintenance, repair, and project installations at nine Utah hydroelectric plants (mechanical/structural). Some Idaho plant work may be required. The role emphasizes safe operation, troubleshooting, and outage planning across hydraulic/mechanical systems. What You'll Do
- Perform maintenance, repair, and special project installations at Utah hydroelectric plants (mechanical/structural).
- Assist with Idaho plants as needed.
- Maintain and repair cooling coils, radial gates/trunnions, bearings, pumps, valves, cranes/hoists, runners/shafts, penstocks, gearboxes, governor systems, and pressure vessels.
- Conduct vibration/alignment analysis and realignment as necessary.
- Safely operate heavy equipment and perform load rigging.
- Analyze plant drawings for troubleshooting or project development.
- Troubleshoot operational issues requiring urgent repair; routinely assess condition of units and appurtenances for maintenance foreman.
- Assist with development of maintenance outage plans and scope for emergent projects (cost, schedule, justification). What We're Looking For
- At least 3 years of Journeyman experience in Machine Shop, Pipe Fitting, Welding, Hydraulics, Pump Repair, Industrial Mechanics.
- Certified welder with pressure vessel certification.
- 5 years of power plant experience.
- High school diploma or GED; academic requirements in Welding, Machine Shop, Industrial Mechanics, and Trade Math.
- Current CDL or ability to obtain within 6 months of start date. Nice to Have

- Hiring range: $57.56 per hour.
