About the Role Johnson Controls is hiring an HVAC Truck Based Technician Team Lead Mechanic (union) in Michigan to lead field service operations for truck-based HVAC service, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to union guidelines. What You'll Do
- Lead a team of HVAC technicians on truck-based service calls in Grand Rapids and Portage, MI
- Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on HVAC systems and equipment
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and union standards
- Coordinate with dispatch and customers to plan and prioritize service work
- Mentor technicians, provide technical guidance, and support training
- Maintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as an HVAC technician/mechanic with truck-based service
- Prior leadership or team lead experience in a field service environment
- Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair skills for HVAC systems
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel within service area as needed
- Ability to work in a union environment and adhere to related policies Nice to Have
- Experience working in a union setting and collaborating with union representatives
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
