We are seeking a skilled HVAC-R Specialist to join our Facility Management Team. The ideal candidate will join the existing team to install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems, ensuring optimal functionality and efficiency.

Job Description

Position: HVAC-R Specialist

Reporting to: Facility Engineer (Hard Services) and Facility Manager

Position Type: Full-Time

Role Overview: The HVAC-R Specialist is responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and optimisation of HVAC and refrigeration systems across the facility. The role supports uninterrupted building operations through preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, system monitoring, and compliance with safety and operational standards.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential :

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as HVAC-R Technician.

• Minimum of OND in Electrical, Mechanical or related field of engineering.

Desirable:

• HVAC Certification.

Skills & Competencies

Essential :

Strong knowledge of HVAC principles.

Familiarity with building automation systems.

Excellent problem solving and communication skills.

Knowledge of energy management systems.

Hands-on refrigeration experience.

HSE Knowledge.

Desirable:

Experience within commercial buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, hospitality or mixed-use facilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Operations:

• Install, operate, inspect, troubleshoot, maintain and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems.

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on chillers, AHUs, split units, VRF systems, cold rooms and ventilation systems.

• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC-R equipment.

• Monitor system performance parameters including temperature, pressure, airflow, voltage, amperage and refrigerant levels.

2. Maintenance And Reliability:

• Execute PPMs according to approved SOPs and checklists.

• Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency maintenance requests

• Ensure all HVAC assets maintain high operational uptime.

• Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs and service reports

3. Safety And Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with HSE regulations, lockout/tagout procedures and safe work practices
• Maintain clean and safe work environments within plant rooms and operational areas
• Ensure proper handling and disposal of maintenance materials

4. Energy And System Optimization:

• Support energy efficiency initiatives and HVAC-R optimization.

• Monitor operational trends and recommend improvements for performance and energy conservation.

• Assist in calibration and optimization of HVAC control systems.

5. Team Collaboration:

• Coordinate with facility operations team and end users during maintenance activities.

• Assist with contractors/OEM support.

• Assist with other facilities related tasks as needed.
