Job title: HVAC Mechanic
About the Role As an experienced HVAC mechanic, you’ll join Johnson Controls’ IMPACT Fly Team to service and optimize advanced commercial HVAC systems across critical environments such as hospitals, data centers, and manufacturing facilities. You’ll travel extensively (50-75%) and bring craftsmanship, safety, and a customer‑facing mindset to every job.
What You'll Do
- Troubleshoot, repair, and install advanced commercial HVAC systems, including chillers, compressors, pumps, rooftop units, and building automation systems.
- Use modern tools such as laser alignment and vibration analysis to diagnose issues and ensure systems run efficiently and reliably.
- Serve as a trusted expert to customers, explaining solutions and ensuring comfort, safety, and performance.
- Collaborate with a strong team, share knowledge, mentor apprentices, and continuously grow your own expertise.
- Travel as required (50-75% of the time) to support projects and customer sites.
What We're Looking For
- Experienced HVAC mechanic with a track record of solving complex challenges.
- Proficient with a range of equipment (chillers, pumps, RTUs) and building automation systems.
- Strong diagnostic and communication skills; comfortable explaining solutions to customers.
- Safety-focused, dependable, and able to work in dynamic environments.
- Willingness to travel 50-75% of the time.
Nice to Have
- Participation in Service Technical Academy or willingness to earn certifications to expand knowledge.
- Interest in developing quoting or customer-facing skills.
- Experience working with critical environments (hospitals, data centers) and high-quality tools.
