About the Role
Lamar Institute of Technology is seeking an HVAC Instructor in the Technology Department to deliver instruction for HVAC courses (including dual credit high school students), maintain office hours, and teach extended day and hybrid/online classes on campus and at alternate locations. The instructor will engage in curriculum development and professional development activities in support of LIT's Shared Vision of Growth and Excellence.
What You'll Do
- Actively engage students in the learning process
- Maintain ethical and professional behavior
- Adhere to TSUS and LIT Policies and Procedures
- Participate in college service (committee work, advising, tutoring, and recruitment)
- Teach classes during fall and spring semesters (day, evening, weekend, and dual credit/online formats)
- Provide mentorship to dual credit partners and mentees
- Attend Teaching and Learning Center sessions to enhance teaching skills
- Stay current with national matters and trends in education
- Participate in assessment activities for the LIT Core Curriculum
- Assist in curriculum development as needed
- Perform other related duties as required
What We're Looking For
- An Associate Degree in HVAC or related field from a regionally accredited institution
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in HVAC
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- This position is security-sensitive and thereby subject to the Texas Education Code §51.215; ability to pass required screenings
