About the Role The HVAC Equipment Service Technician is a senior-level technical role responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems in marine and naval environments. This role requires expertise with complex shipboard systems on ships, submarines, and offshore platforms, ensuring optimal performance under demanding conditions. The technician may work independently or lead small teams, ensuring compliance with maritime regulations, safety standards, and operational readiness. What You'll Do
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair advanced HVAC systems onboard marine vessels, including chilled water systems, DX systems, air handling units, refrigeration, and ventilation.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with marine and naval standards.
- Install and commission HVAC systems on new ship builds, retrofits, and upgrades.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and system layouts.
- Ensure HVAC systems meet naval and maritime regulatory requirements (e.g., IMO, Navy standards, classification societies).
- Work in confined spaces and challenging marine environments including engine rooms and offshore installations.
- Lead and mentor junior technicians.
- Support mission-critical operations by ensuring HVAC reliability and uptime. What We're Looking For
- Senior-level HVAC expertise with hands-on experience in marine/naval environments.
- Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair advanced HVAC systems (chilled water, DX, AHUs, refrigeration, ventilation).
- Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and installing/commissioning HVAC systems.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and layouts.
- Knowledge of maritime regulatory requirements (IMO, Navy standards, classification societies) and safety standards.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and harsh marine settings (engine rooms, offshore installations).
- Demonstrated leadership and mentorship capabilities; ability to lead small teams.
- Strong focus on reliability, uptime, and operational readiness.
