Job title: Human Resources Manager
About the Role The Human Resources Manager will oversee the HR function for the New Hartford and Dunkirk sites, developing and implementing plant-wide HR policies and partnering with operations to meet business needs. The role also manages the relationship with the Union and administration of the collective bargaining agreement, and acts as an HR liaison across key areas to support workforce planning and development.
What You'll Do
- Develop and administer plant HR policies (attendance, general work rules, leaves, etc.)
- Develop and maintain HR metrics (turnover rates, time-to-fill)
- Lead human capital planning and workforce development (succession planning, workforce scorecard, retention planning, training initiatives)
- Advise and counsel management on labor issues and disputes to ensure compliance with the bargaining agreement
- Administer the grievance and arbitration procedure
- Recruit hourly and salaried positions
- Support Operations team and staff managers to coordinate manpower plans and establish work schedules, job assignments, and related tasks
- Serve as HR liaison for succession planning, talent management, employee relations, compensation, benefits, EEO, safety, medical, recruitment, compliance with federal and state laws, records retention, community relations, and training and development
What We're Looking For
- Experience managing HR for multiple sites with union relations and a track record in administering a collective bargaining agreement
- Strong knowledge of labor law compliance, EEO requirements, and federal/state regulations
- Ability to develop and implement HR policies and processes, build HR metrics, and drive workforce planning and training initiatives
- Proven ability to advise management, manage labor issues, and resolve employee relations concerns
- Recruitment experience for both hourly and salaried positions
- Strong collaboration with operations and cross-functional teams
