Human Resources Generalist
Our manufacturing client is seeking a hands-on Human Resources Generalist for their 50-person team. This full-time, direct-hire role will own the company’s human resources function, balancing administrative tasks with strategic needs, acting as a trusted partner to both floor supervisors and executive leadership, and focusing heavily on direct employee engagement and compliance scaling.
Responsibilities of the Human Resources Generalist
- Maintain an active presence to build trust and resolve issues early
- Manage performance review process
- Serve as primary point of contact for employee grievances, conducting fair and well-documented investigations
- Track attendance and submit timecard data to payroll provider
- Source, interview, hire, and onboard new employees
- Maintain OSHA 300 logs and coordinate safety training
- Manage workers’ compensation claims
- Ensure compliance with FLSA, FMLA/leave management, and state labor laws
- Manage annual open enrollment, benefit inquiries, and 401(k) plan administration
- Maintain digital and physical personnel files
- Foster a positive work culture
Qualifications of the Human Resources Generalist
- 3+ years of HR experience, ideally as a standalone Generalist or Manager
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment required (familiarity with hourly work and plant safety)
- SHRM-CP or PHR is a plus
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable handling everything from high-level strategy to filing paperwork
- Ability to connect equally well with hourly shop-floor workers and executive leadership
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
