About the Role The Human Resources Generalist at Helm Bank USA provides the operational backbone of the HR function, delivering payroll, HRIS management, recruitment, compliance, and employee lifecycle processes in a scalable, compliant manner. This role acts as an operational leader, driving process improvement and automation while partnering with leadership to deliver an exceptional employee experience and regulatory adherence.

What You'll Do

  • Manage HR Operations, including payroll, HRIS (UKG), compliance, and employee data analytics.
  • Manage time and attendance (timesheets, PTO/absence, manager approvals).
  • Oversee payroll processing and operational controls to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain HRIS functionality, data integrity, reporting, and system optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulatory requirements, and internal policies; maintain accurate records.
  • Lead recruitment from requisition inception to posting, candidate screening, interviews, and onboarding.
  • Lead HR audits and regulatory reporting (ACA, Non-Discrimination Testing, internal/external audits).
  • Monitor timely completion of the full performance management cycle; partner with managers on performance and development.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource on HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Coordinate and track training programs; ensure completion and compliance.
  • Support development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Deliver HR reporting and metrics to support audits, leadership, and decision-making.
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align HR operations with business needs and strategic initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred; advanced certifications (SHRM-SCP/SPHR) are a plus.
  • +10 years of progressive HR experience with a strong emphasis in HR Operations.
  • Banking/financial services experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven ability to manage processes, audits, and operational controls.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
  • Competencies: Partnership-oriented, effective communication, adaptability, customer-centric mindset, problem-solving, and ability to drive results.

Nice to Have

  • Advanced HR certifications (SHRM-SCP or SPHR) are a plus.
  • Experience with UKG or other HRIS systems is a plus.
