Position Title Human Resources Coordinator - Internal Only

Position Summary
The Human Resources Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Office of Human Resources by coordinating activities throughout the employee lifecycle. This position serves as a primary point of contact for employees, supervisors, and applicants regarding HR processes and programs while ensuring data integrity, compliance, and excellent customer service. The HR Coordinator administers onboarding and offboarding activities, maintains employee records, processes personnel actions, supports benefits and payroll administration, and assists with HR initiatives and employee engagement programs. The Human Resources Coordinator reports to the Director of HRIS and Compensation.

Coordinate and administer onboarding activities for new employees, including orientation, benefits overview, system access, and credential distribution.

Ensure timely and compliant completion of Form I-9 documentation in accordance with federal regulations.

Process employee status changes, including promotions, transfers, reassignments, compensation changes, and organizational updates.

Coordinate off-boarding activities for employee separations, including voluntary resignations, involuntary terminations, and retirements.

Serve as a resource for employees regarding HR processes, policies, benefits, and employment-related inquiries, escalating complex issues as appropriate.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee data within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).

Monitor data integrity and perform routine audits to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.

Maintain employee personnel files and supporting documentation, including employment agreements, payroll authorizations, and personnel action forms.

Assist with position control processes, position code management, and organizational structure updates.

Required Education

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Required Work Experience

Two (2) years of related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience with human resources administration and employee lifecycle processes.

Experience working with HRIS, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and electronic document management systems.

Knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements preferred.

Work Hours

Typically Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm with extended hours as needed to meet departmental goals.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift up to 15lbs of event/office supplies.

Ability to reach overhead, bend, squat to retrieve event materials.

Ability to push/pull event carts/wagons holding up to 50lbs.

Ability to actively engage in events for extended periods of time.

Ability to regularly move about campus and event venues to actively engage faculty/staff/guests, as well as attend meetings on and off campus.
