Job title: Human Resources Analyst
About the Role The Atlantic Cape May Vicinage of the New Jersey Judiciary seeks a skilled HR professional to provide technical advice and support across recruitment, leave administration, payroll, benefits, training, and related HR operations. Reporting to the HR Division Manager, you will apply problem solving, communication, organizational, and analytical skills in a fast-paced, multi-location environment. Travel within the vicinage may be required. The position supports staff across multiple locations and may include remote work.
What You'll Do
- Provide technical HR guidance to managers, supervisors, and staff on recruitment and selection, FMLA/NJFLA leave administration, Workers' Compensation, tuition aid, benefits, payroll processing, and exit processing.
- Compile reports and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office; maintain relationships with state agencies and external organizations; facilitate HR-related training.
- Conduct new employee orientation; process HR transactions in HRIS (classification, compensation, position control, payroll) and audit HR systems for integrity.
- Participate in team meetings, serve on committees, and assist with discipline/grievance materials.
- Assist with staff salary increases and payroll audits; perform other related duties.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of professional HR experience, including at least one year in payroll processing, benefits administration, salary administration, classification, labor/employee relations, training, recruitment, and/or EEO/AA.
- Substitution options: additional paraprofessional/professional experience on a year-for-year basis; associate degree plus two years of experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree. Master’s or law degree may substitute for one or two years of experience (not both).
- Valid New Jersey driver’s license if vehicle operation is required.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of federal/state/local employment regulations, and the ability to interpret them along with Judiciary policies and bargaining unit agreements.
- Strong written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; experience with HRIS and payroll audits.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: Schedule A $61,749.69–$100,154.67; Schedule B $61,749.69–$95,146.95. Newly hired staff typically start at the minimum; promotions include a 5% base salary increase not to exceed the range maximum.
- Hybrid work schedule available: up to 2 remote days; requires high-speed home internet and MFA app installation.
