Job title: Human Resource Coordinator
About the Role The Human Resource Coordinator handles daily HR interactions with Bachoco USA employees regarding personnel, benefits, and job-related issues. This role maintains accurate employee records, processes absenteeism and vacation requests, assists with payroll needs, and coordinates FMLA documentation in a manufacturing environment. The position requires strong data-entry, information management, and communication skills to support supervisors and management.
What You'll Do
- Handle incoming calls, document absentee notifications and vacation requests in the Call-In Database, and forward questions, concerns, or complaints to upper management for investigation and resolution.
- Accurately enter absenteeism, vacation, transfer requests, and disciplinary actions into employee records; issue line passes following any period of absence.
- File hardcopy personnel information and maintain/update employee records; assist management interviews with employees as needed.
- Assist employees in completing Company, Federal and State forms and explain timely submission requirements; coordinate FMLA paperwork with the designated FMLA point of contact.
- Generate personnel reports from the HR management program for supervisors and employees; assist with position investigations regarding promotions and maintain absentee and discipline histories.
- Maintain stock levels of HR forms; verify receipt of payroll checks from Payroll; distribute checks to supervisors and employees and log checks returned to HR.
- Support payroll issues and liaise with HR Supervisor/Manager for action.
- Translate for bilingual employees as needed and assist prospective employees with applications; process temporary staffing and onboarding documentation.
- Consolidate staffing information into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet for review by upper management.
- Perform switchboard operator duties for the South Complex from mid-afternoon to close of business.
What We're Looking For
- Education: High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months related experience; or equivalent combination.
- Communication: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Computer/Technical: Knowledge of spreadsheet software and experience with HR software; ability to generate reports.
- Data Entry & Records: Accurate data input into employee records; filing and record-keeping.
- Payroll & Benefits: Ability to assist with payroll issues and distribute payroll checks; verify receipt of checks.
- FMLA: Experience or familiarity with completing and coordinating FMLA forms.
- Bilingual: Ability to translate for other entities within the company.
- Physical & Work Environment: Regularly sit and use hands; occasional lifting up to 25 pounds; exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving parts, and outside weather; moderate noise.
