Job title: Human Genetics Data Scientist
About the Role Novartis is seeking a Human Genetics Data Scientist to apply advanced data science and statistical methods to human genetics data in support of discovery and translational research. This role is based in Cambridge, MA, USA, and contributes to genetics-driven programs within the Research organization.
What You'll Do
- Analyze genomic and phenotypic data to identify genetic associations and biological insights.
- Develop and implement statistical models and machine learning pipelines for large-scale genomics datasets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Research and Translational groups to interpret results and guide experimentation.
- Manage data quality, documentation, and reproducible analysis workflows.
What We're Looking For
- PhD or equivalent in Genetics, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, or related field (or MS with substantial relevant experience).
- Strong experience with genomics data (GWAS, WGS/exome, RNA-seq) and statistical modeling; proficiency in Python or R; SQL is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud computing and HPC environments; familiarity with bioinformatics tooling and data visualization.
- Prior experience in pharmaceutical or biotech research settings.
